People singing in a choir or in a vocal ensemble well know that there is a relation between inner sensations and body reactions. Björn Vickhoff, a swedish researcher of the Center for Brain Repair and Rehabilitation – Göteborg University, studied this singing aspect conducting some experiments and publishing a research on the Frontiers in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience journal; he shown the ratio among melodies, rhythm and heart activity. Specifically when a vocal ensemble sings the same melody in unison, the pulse rates of the vocalists speed up and slow down at the same rate.
